Overview
We built TypeForge to work with as little personal data as possible. This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the Service and how it's handled.
Data We Collect
TypeForge does not require you to create an account or sign in. The information involved in using the Service includes:
- Typing session data (WPM, accuracy, streaks, characters typed) — calculated and stored locally in your browser to display your stats and progress;
- The name you enter when generating a downloadable certificate — used only to print on that certificate image, and not transmitted to or stored on our servers;
- General usage data such as browser type and approximate region, which may be collected automatically by standard web server logs.
Cookies & Local Storage
TypeForge uses your browser's local storage to remember your theme preference and recent session stats on your own device. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Third-Party Services
TypeForge loads fonts from Google Fonts. Loading these fonts may involve a request to Google's servers, subject to Google's own privacy practices. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on this site.
Children's Privacy
TypeForge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your Choices
Because session data lives in your browser's local storage rather than on our servers, you're always in control of it: clearing your browser's site data for TypeForge removes it completely.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
