Do I need to create an account?
No. TypeForge works without registration or sign-in — just open the site and start typing.
Where is my typing data stored?
Your session stats (WPM, accuracy, streaks) are calculated and stored locally in your own browser. We don't store this data on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How is WPM calculated?
WPM (words per minute) is calculated from the number of correctly typed characters divided by 5, adjusted for the length of your test session, factoring in accuracy.
Can I download a certificate of my results?
Yes. After completing a test, you can generate and download a certificate image summarizing your WPM, accuracy, characters typed, and best streak.
Why do my results vary slightly between attempts?
Small variance is normal in any typing test and can be affected by your device, browser, keyboard, and typing rhythm. See our Disclaimer for more information.
Does TypeForge work on mobile devices?
TypeForge is built primarily for desktop keyboards, where typing tests are most meaningful, though the site will load on mobile browsers as well.
